Fencing under the guidance of Helen Nelis-Naukase
Try your hand at an elegant sport deeply rooted in Haapsalu’s history. Fencing is technical, requires focus, and is playful at the same time — making it perfect for developing teamwork. Our training sessions are led by Helen Nelis-Naukas, one of Estonia’s most experienced and respected fencing coaches. She has spent decades preparing Olympic hopefuls, coaching top fencers worldwide, and developing training methods that help every participant quickly adapt, learn, and enjoy the process.
What the training includes?
The 2–3 hour training begins with a brief and engaging overview of the history of fencing and its connection to Haapsalu, one of Estonia’s key fencing hubs, followed by the basics of technique.
Helen has a talent for making the complex simple and playful — she creates a space where every participant feels safe and supported, even without any prior experience.
Team tournament – testing your skills
The training culminates in a team tournament, where participants joyfully put their newly learned skills to the test. The event highlights team strengths, collaboration, support, and quick decision-making. The tournament is always fun, energizing, and full of laughter — while also revealing who the team’s most precise and skilled fencers are.
